I am so excited to have a little q&a to share with you today on Ever Brooklyn. I ran into Fannie McWatt one of the founders on the subway some months back and she shared with me some of the blend of oils she was working on. I have really missed having oils be a part of my daily life. I have a few here at home however there use to be a time where I had an oil for everything and feel that Ever Brooklyn is exactly what a stress out mom needs. Fannie's partners Amy Lindwall, Shannan Shaughnessy as well as Fannie are certified aromatherapists who will offer wellness education, information, and high quality essential oils to help promote and sustain a more natural lifestyle.
MB: Please share with us how EVER Brooklyn came about?
One day I realized my life as a corporate full-time working mom was flying past me. I started looking into aromatherapy as a way to help cope with the stressful life I was trying to keep up with. When I discovered all the ways I could use essential oils to improve my life in the city, I wanted to help all my friends do the same. So I got certified in aromatherapy to learn the science behind these oils and met two other Brooklynites who were on the same mission. We started EVER to share this knowledge and become a trusted source of artisan-distilled oils from around the world.
MB: Will we be able to buy your oils soon?
We’re planning to launch our first collection in early February through our online store at www.everbrooklyn.com. The line will include favorites such as Lavender, Peppermint, and Eucalyptus, as well as specialty notes like Clary Sage and Jasmine. We’ve also had some interest from local boutiques so we’re hoping to bring our oils to Brooklyn stores by Spring!
MB: is there an particular oil that helps with stress?
At EVER, we are all about exploring how essential oil science and holistic approaches can come together and improve our well-being. Lavender is the most well known choice for stress relief. But it’s also important to determine the root cause of stress to find the right oils to help.
For example, if you’re stressed because you feel overwhelmed by all the things you have to do, Frankincense is a fantastic oil to help you stay calm and focused to get things done. On the other hand, if you find yourself obsessing over something that’s out of your control, try Clary Sage to help you let go of that moment and move on.
